The short answer
Dream Wallpaper Installers serves West Park, FL in Broward County, about eleven miles northeast of Hialeah. We help plan, prep and install wallpaper, murals, grasscloth, vinyl and peel-and-stick, and we also remove old coverings and repair walls.
West Park is a small city just across the county line in southern Broward County, about eleven miles northeast of our Hialeah shop. Even though it sits outside Miami-Dade, it is an easy drive for our crew and part of our regular service area. Instead of a list of services, this page lays out a practical planning timeline for a West Park wallpaper project, from the moment you start browsing patterns to the days after the last strip goes up. Following it will help you avoid the most common and costly mistakes homeowners make with wallcoverings.
Several Weeks Out: Pick the Room and the Look
Start by deciding how the room is used. A guest bedroom that sits closed most of the week, a busy family hallway and a bathroom with a daily hot shower all need different materials. Once you know the room's job, narrow down patterns and order physical samples. Colors on a screen rarely match what arrives, and Florida's strong daylight can change how a sample reads at different times of day.
Tape samples to the actual wall and look at them in the morning, at midday and in the evening under your lamps. It is a simple step that prevents a lot of regret.
Before You Order: Let Us Measure
Ordering the wrong amount is a frequent problem. Too little, and a reorder may come from a different print run with a slightly different shade. Too much is wasteful. Pattern repeat, wall height, windows and doors all affect the count, so we measure your walls and tell you how many rolls or panels to buy, with a reasonable allowance for matching and trimming.
When everything arrives, check that all rolls share the same batch or run number and set aside one roll unopened in case a strip gets damaged.
- Confirm the pattern repeat and match type listed by the manufacturer
- Buy all rolls at once from a single run
- Store rolls flat in an air-conditioned room, not a hot garage
- Keep the label or batch information until the job is done
Prep Day: Strip, Repair and Prime
If an older covering is on the wall, it comes off first, followed by a thorough wash to remove leftover adhesive. We then fill holes, fix dents, smooth any texture and apply a primer meant specifically for wallcoverings. On exterior concrete-block walls, we take a moisture reading, because block can hold dampness during the wet months from May through October.
Depending on the wall's condition, prep may happen the same day as hanging or a day ahead so patches and primer have time to dry fully.
Installation Day: Layout Comes Before Paste
We establish a plumb line rather than trusting the corners, which are rarely perfectly straight. For a patterned paper, we decide where the first strip goes so the design is centered on the wall's focal point and the final, least-visible seam ends in a corner behind a door. Murals get laid out on the floor in panel order before anything is pasted.
During installation, keep the air conditioning on at a steady temperature and the doors closed, so the room's humidity stays stable while the paste begins to set.
The Days After: Let It Cure
Fresh wallpaper needs time. Avoid hanging pictures or pushing furniture against the new surface for a few days, and keep the AC running normally. Small bubbles that appear in the first day or two often flatten as the paste dries. If something still looks off after that, we are close enough to stop by and take a look.
During hurricane season, June 1 through November 30, we may suggest moving an installation date if a storm threatens power, since curing in a hot, humid room without cooling can cause seams to lift. West Park appointments often line up with our work in Miami Gardens, Miramar, Miami Lakes, Opa-locka and North Miami, and we also install commercial vinyl for local businesses.
